Here at UKAA we buy and sell quality ornate cast iron floor grilles for period homes and gardens. The Images below are from a happy customer who purchased antique cast iron floor grilles for their home.
Cast iron floor grilles are often known as antique Cathedral floor grilles, Ecclesiastical gratings, Church floor vents, period cast iron grids and antique Victorian decorative floor grilles which are suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
Cast Iron floor grilles have many uses; the majority of our reclaimed floor grilles are salvaged from Churches and Cathedrals and are a very decorative yet practical items. They were used as heating vents in the Churches and they did an excellent job of dispersing the heat in very draftee Churches and Chapels. Made from cast iron they are truly beautiful and have so much character and natural patina. They can be painted in any colour but black and white are the most popular colour choices.
Floor grilles can be used in a variety of ways as air bricks, cellar bricks and much more.
Cast iron grates were often used in Victorian glass houses, green houses and conservatories to cover heating pipes.
