Very Rare Royal Mail VR Cast Iron Wall Mounted Post Box
Excellent fully refurbished original post box - Completed here by hand at UKAA to our very high standards.
Made in the Queen Victoria's era - Circa 1859.
This post box is a Standard No 2 Small Wall Box. They were an improvement on the first national standard post box with a flap which helps keep the rain out.
Fitted with the original Chubb lock and 2 x keys, enamel plaque and collection box.
The overall size is 31" Tall x 10" Wide x 13" Deep.
Made by Smith & Hawkes - Birmingham.
This is the smaller version of the second standard wall box which was much more common.
We also send some touch up paint with the post box.
