  • Very Rare Antique Cast Iron Eagle Fire Grate Tiled Insert
  • Made by the Eagle Foundry in 1897 - the rear firebrick is dated.
  • It is marked - Gold Medal Eagle Grate by Royal Letters Patent.
  • This is totally original with its original tiles (these could easily be changed - they are standard 6" x6" tiles).
  • All of the original tiles and small brass knobs are fitted.
  • The insert measures 39" Tall x 41" Wide x 15 ½" Into Wall (Depth).
  • The pictures below show how this grate is to be used. In the Summer and other times when the fire is not being used the doors are closed, in this mode it was still attractive to look at. When in use the doors are folded back and it then looks like a normal tiled insert.
  • Please note the fire grate is sat on black painted MDF for photo purposes.
