In 1870 the Cathedral installed 1200 Oak Chairs
The chairs are 36½" tall and the width of the seat is 17¼" and the seat height is 17½"
The architect for the cathedral was Sir George Gilbert Scott - it would of been part of his work for him to have an input in the design and manufacture of the chairs

We purchased over 120 chairs from the Cathedral and we have now sourced a manufacturer to replicate the chairs for us in Solid Oak, with the same method of construction and detail.
We have hand Lime waxed the chairs here at UKAA
