Original George VI Oak Coronation Chair & Stool 1937
Very rare and totally original.
Covered with velvet bearing the monogram GR VI beneath a crown.
Stamped on the underside GRVI with Crown and Coronation.
Stool is labelled as number 232.
Chair measures: 34" Tall x 19 ¼" Seat Width x 18 ½" Seat Height.
Stool measures: 18 ½" Seat Height x 12 ¾" Deep x 18 ½" Long.
The coronation of GeorgeVI (6th) took place on 12th May 1937 at Westminster Abbey, London.
The chair has a very small round hole in the fabric - please see image.
