What is a TRV Valve?

A Thermostatic radiator valve or TRV is a self regulating valve that can be fitted to any reproduction or reclaimed cast iron radiators, they can also be used on modern contemporary steel radiators.

The TRV controls the temperature of the room by changing the flow of the hot water to the radiator, the thermostatic valve senses the temperature of the room around them to alter the flow.

The setting for the TRV can be different in each room, once set you can just leave the TRV to get on with there job.

As TRV valves work by sensing the temperature of the room it is important to ensure that the valve is not covered in material such as curtains.

With any new heating system to comply with current building regulations, TRV's should be fitted to all radiators except in the room where the room thermostat is situated.

At UKAA we have a large selection of thermostatic radiator valves in a range of finishes such as satin nickel, chrome, brass, old English brass, Pewter, antique copper and antique brass.
