On Monday the 1st of August From the Anvil are launching a photography competition which will run until the end of January 2017.
They are looking for images that include any item in the From the Anvil range, this can include selfies, creative, and items in situ.
These photographs can be submitted via any social media channel such as Facebook and Twitter!

At UKAA we have a large selection of reclaimed wooden flooring for sale which is ideal to use in period properties or modern contemporary homes.
Currently, we have a fantastic batch of hardwood parquet that we have recently advertised on our website.
The technical name for parquet is parquetry and is the process of arranging different sized blocks of wood in a geometric pattern.
This technique dates back from the 1600's and was originally used in Europe.
Different wood is often used to create contrasting colours within the pattern and herringbone is the most popular design.
The popularity of parquet flooring reached its peak in the 1920's but the flooring typing is currently making a big come back and is ideal for reception rooms and kitchens.

At our reclamation yard in Cannock Wood we have recently advertised a couple of fantastic batches of reclaimed Victorian floorboards on our website.
Prior to being advertised all our timber floorboards go through a strict checking process and all the nails are removed.
We then measure a selection of each batch to find the average size of the floorboards.
Here at UKAA we always have a large variety of floorboards which include square edge and tongue and groove for sale.
All of our floorboards are dry stored and ready to lay after a small period of acclimatisation in your home.

Here at UKAA we have a large selection of decorative antique finials and reclaimed wall caps.
Traditionally garden finials were found on period properties and stately homes but today are often used to decorate gateways and entrances.
Originally from the Elizabethan period gate finials were used to demonstrate the wealth of the family and often had elements of the family crest such as lions and eagles within the carvings.
Pineapples were also often used to show hospitality.
During the Victorian period ball finials both made from stone and terracotta were also very popular.
Currently we have a large selection of gate finials in stock including a range of vintage reclaimed ornamental Haddenstone piers and Chilstone capings.

We have recently received this fantastic photograph from one of our happy customers.
Our customer purchased an original antique hymn board from UKAA that came complete with its original numbers.

Here at UKAA we have a large selection of traditional reclaimed antique bird baths which are perfect for gardens and patios.
Made from a range of materials such as portland stone, wood, sandstone, limestone and terracotta. bird baths can be used as a feature as well as being practical.
These vintage style bird baths can be used as garden features as well as being functional.
Bird baths provide clean fresh drinking water all year round for birds to drink and bathe, which is essential for the health of the birds.
Here in Cannock Wood we have a range of birds that visit our reclaimed bird baths such as Swallows, Sparrows and Yellow Wagtails.

At UKAA we always have for sale a large selection of old antique and retro chairs that we have reclaimed from Chapels, Churches and schools around the country.
We are able to paint any of our chairs we have in stock bespoke to order.
Our current stock includes traditional Victorian Church chairs, Wooden stacking chairs and vintage tubular steel chairs, the chairs are ideal to use with kitchen and dining tables.
All our reclaimed chairs go through our workshops where they are checked thoroughly prior to being advertised for sale.
The chairs look stunning in their original waxed finish which shows off the natural patina or you can go for a more modern look and we can paint the chairs in a colour of your choice.
We offer solid and distressed paint finishes, some of our customers have the chair seats left in there natural wood as a contrast to the painted frame.

Here at our reclamation yard in Cannock Wood we have a range of antique original butchers blocks for sale, these reclaimed blocks can be viewed online or at our antique shop.
Our wooden chopping blocks are perfect to use in a kitchen as a central island or as an extension to a kitchen work surface.
Each reclaimed block is fully refurbished by our team of joiners and where possible we keep the blocks original base with the top.
Occasionally we are able to salvage a butcher's block top only so we are able to make a bespoke base to suit the top and your kitchen.

Our radiator shop and reclamation yard in Cannock Wood is open for visitors over the Bank Holiday weekend.
We have a large selection of antique and reclaimed items for sale which include new Carron cast iron radiators, reclaimed wooden flooring and old pine floorboards, original Royal Mail pillar boxes and post boxes, bespoke wood and metal topped dining or kitchen tables, garden furniture and much more.

The long weekend is an ideal time to get together as families and enjoy the British weather, here at UKAA we have our fingers crossed for nice weather.
We have a large selection of outdoor garden furniture and patio tables for sale that are perfect for family BBQ's or socialising with friends. All of our tables can be viewed online or at our salvage yard in Cannock Wood.
At UKAA we are open Bank Holiday Monday from 10am until 4pm and you are most welcome to come over to have a look around our radiator shop and antique reclamation yard.
